Run of the Mill.

Run of the Mill is an award-winning, inclusive art and provides outreach, training and artistic opportunities for intellectually disabled artists and participants.

Our client wanted a new brand identity and website. As project leader and graphic designer, I was in charge of client contact, research, identity design, presentation of ideas and once approved web design and development.

Insight into the project.

Run of the mill is a well established theatre but lacked any visual identity for consistent use across shows, events and classes.

Their theatre is an impressively diverse group. Not only in its actors but in its on stage performances, short films and workshops. Their award winning cast present on stage and screen, hard hitting topics as well as having a fun and playful sense of humour.

The challenge was to capture their energy and diversity in a new brand identity.

To do this we decided to use cascading type to give a sense of movement and play within the logos type. To balance this, four coloured blade shapes of a "Mill" to represent its name and location, as well as giving a background for the type sit upon.
